Friday, April 8th, 2016 at 2:00 pm join us at Historic Waynesborough for our latest in the “People Who Shaped America” series.
$20 Refreshments following presentation.
Marion T. Lane, EdD, author and educator, opens your patriotic eyes on April 8th. Did you know that African indentured servants, free blacks as well as slaves, assisted in the founding of our nation? In fact, there were between 5,000 and 20,000 patriots of African and Native American descent who served in the Continental Forces under the command of General George Washington. These are our country’s forgotten patriots.
Since most traditional history textbooks marginalize the contributions and involvement of people of African descent, children, educators and parents will find her presentation both interesting and engaging. A can’t miss talk. Reserve your space by April 6th.
